Patiala, December 28, 2012. The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) today sealed AB Grain Spirits Pvt. Ltd and Adie Broswon Distillers & Bottlers Pvt Ltd, owned by the Chadha group of companies, for not complying with the various provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.

PPCB instructed Chadha Sugars & Industries Ltd. to ensure compliance with required norms, in addition to providing a bank guarantee of Rs 35 lakh.

PPCB authorities raided these companies' premises on December 16 to evaluate industrial pollution norm-compliance. The companies operated from a common complex in Kiri Afghana village, Gurdaspur.
